How to Save in Industrial Bench Scale Rental Costs

Industries depend on bench scales for all their weighing needs. These bench scales are generally scales that which are kept on a bench and the object is placed on it for weighing. Such a scale has platform on which the object is placed and a weighing indicator shows the weight of the object. The platform is separated from the weighing indicator by a cord, about five feet in length.

They are used to weigh objects from six lbs. to two thousand lbs. They are generally made of stainless steel and are also available in wash down models for use in restaurants, food industry, markets, pharmaceutical industry etc. Industrial bench scales can be battery operated or electrically operated. They come with an adaptor, auto shut off, battery indicator etc.

They also have LED or LCD displays, push button and flexible print formats. Some bench scales also have lift off platforms so that there is direct access to all the parts to clean it properly.

The main purpose of the bench scale is to provide accurate measurement for a long time period. Not all the industries can afford to buy a bench scale, as it is costly. Some industries need bench scales only during a particular time of the year or a particular period. Some might need it only during taking inventory of the things or some other peak period. Since the cost of the industrial bench scale is high, the industries can think of renting the scale. Many companies which manufacture bench scales would be ready to rent out the scale to the industries whenever they need them. The scale might either be new ones or used scales that might be rented out. Since the scale is not going to be used all year round, the scale can be rented and used.

The cost of buying it would be saved, by renting the industrial bench scale. The maintenance and storage cost will also be saved. The space that has to be allotted for the bench scale can be utilized for other purposes.

What are the Uses of Economic Digital Floor Scales

We need to measure all the objects that are bought or sold. The floor scale is a type of scale that is kept on the floor and used for weighing purposes in shops, homes and offices. They come in many varieties. They are available in many shapes, sizes, capacities and models.

The floor scales can handle a lot of weight. When the floor scale is digital, it is very convenient. The automatic digital display shows the accurate weight. Otherwise, it would have to be known by the markings given on the scale. They have an electronic motor and an AC adaptor so that the scale can be plugged directly to an electric source. Some scales require the use of batteries. Most of them come with the option of using with the batteries or the power source.

Being a digital scale, the floor scale is accurate up to 0.1 gram. These digital scales also have automatic power shut. This is very useful for people who have varying schedules because of which they might forget to manually turn off the power. This not only helps in saving power when the scale is not in use and also lessens the stress for the user.

The digital floor scales are generally made of stainless steel to avoid corrosion. Some of them are wash proof and splash proof. It can thus be used in any kind of industrial usage for weighing right from food substances to hazardous chemicals. The base of the floor is also broad and flat. This makes weighing a huge mass of great weight, possible.

These digital floor scales are used in the construction industry for weighing materials used for buildings. They are used in the food and beverage industry for weighing the food stuffs that have to be produced and then packed. They are used in the pharmaceutical industry in the process of manufacture of the various types of medicines. They are used in hardware stores for weighing material that has to be sold. They are used in the shipping industry. They are also used in weighing hazardous material in some industries.

What Conditions are needed When Buying Truck Scales

Truck scales are very useful for weighing a load carried by a truck. A truck scale is also called a weighbridge. They are very large and are floor weighing systems that are used to weigh the truck with the material in it. The vehicle is weighed with the load and without the load. In this way the weight of the load can be measured. They are mainly used in for ‘charging by weight’ when the vehicle travels over a bridge. It is also used to check the gross vehicle weight and the axle weight.

It is used in industries to know the weight that is being carried or transported from and to different places. The single axle truck scale checks the gross vehicle weight and the axle weight of the vehicle. This helps in knowing whether the vehicle is safe to travel on the public highway. If, it is overloaded, it will be stopped by the traffic authorities and a fine has to be paid. The truck scale and the single axle truck scale are systems that can be mounted with the weighing surface flush to the level of the roadway or the surface mounted. In some places there are thin electronic weigh cells and on this the vehicle is driven very slowly. A computer gives the total weight of the vehicle, by the output of the cells. Thus, they can weight the force of each axle and find out if the vehicle is within limits. This includes the total vehicle weight, the maximum weight within the axle span limit (which protects the safety of the bridges) and an individual axle limit (which protects the road surface).

Truck scales are available in electronic or electromechanical types, having concrete or steel platforms. It requires pit type installation and multiple platforms are needed to measure the axle weight and vehicle’s total weight. When buying truck scales you can buy scales that can have utility value for both the operator and the driver. Some of the options available are- traffic lights, traffic management software, ticket printers, remote displays, intercom, video surveillance, automated systems and guard rails etc.

What Makes Digital Platform Weighing Scale So Popular

When we buy or sell any product, we need to measure it to know the quantity. So, scales have become an essential part of any business. There are many types of scales available that meet the individual needs of different kinds of needs. Some might require bench scales, others a platform scales, while still others a floor scale. Earlier, the scale was just a balance, in which the weights were kept on one balance and the products kept in the other. With the advancement of time, we now have digital scales.

The platform scale is a scale that comes with a platform that has an attachment that tells you the weight. The product to be weighed is kept on the platform and measured. The platform scale helps is weighing large and heavy objects that are placed on the platform and it adjusts the weight and gives the accurate measurement.

The platform scales are available in different sizes, capacities, styles and models. Each client can see the models available and choose the scale most suited to his requirements. They can handle weights right from six kilograms to twenty tons. The platform scales are available in the digital model. The digital scale is based on the load cell technology where the electronic load cells sense the weight and transfer the calculated weight to digital signals which are displayed in the digital form. They work on batteries or on electricity.

Digital platform scales can be used as soon as they are bought and are hence popular. They do not need any other accessories. Small models come with batteries and the larger ones come with a long heavy duty cable which can be connected to a power source.

The different types of digital platform scales available are the low capacity platform scale, mild steel platform scale, floor mounted stainless steel platform scale, pit mounted platform scale, portable platform scale, intrinsically safe platform scale, bench mounted platform scale, standalone platform scale, pi-installed platform scale, mobile platform scale, hazardous area platform scale etc. They are all very durable, give accurate measurement, have a long service life and are reliable in the weights given. They are all manufactured to suit different kinds of weighing platform scale needs.

The digital platform is used by all types of business to weigh products, handle them and monitor them. They are used in all kinds of industries right from those dealing in food to medicines to hazardous products. Some types of platform scales can handle weights of cargos of about twenty thousand pounds. Bench scales are a type of platform scales which are used to give accurate weight of objects. They provide shock and static overload protection by absorbing the spring. These are available in wash proof and splash proof models. Some have lift off platforms which allow the user to have direct access to all the components for cleaning purposes.

What are the factors to be considered when buying a digital scale

Scales are very important for measurement of any object. Earlier the balance or a scale with a spring action was used. In the scale with a spring action the reading has to be put to zero and then the reading has to be taken. All these are a thing of the past. The digital scale is now widely used in homes, stores and factories for weighing objects. There are many types of scales such as the floor scales, platform scales, bench scales, counting scales and bagging scales which all come with digital features.

The digital scale is a scale that is connected to an AC power adaptor. It has a liquid crystal display, displaying the measurement taken. It has weighing trays, digital auto calibration, digital user calibration, last weight memory, low battery indicator and auto shut off. Some digital scales also have extra features such as electronic voice, paper print out and body measurements, which are very useful in fitness clinics and for people who are into dieting and reducing weight.

The digital scale is very useful in the kitchen. It is used to measure quantities of food and liquids. The bench scale and the counting scale which are digital, can be used for these purposes.

1. So, accuracy is an important factor. It should be accurate to 0.1 gram.

2. The scale should read clearly and should be located in a place on the scale so that it will be easy to see, without moving or bending in an awkward manner.

3. It should be able to handle the weight of the thing to be weighed. You should decide whether you want to weigh large or small quantities. With large quantities the scale should have a varied range. With small quantities the reading should be precise so that the recipe turns out correctly.

4. It should have units that you are familiar with. Otherwise, it should have a number of different units. If this is not the case, time will have to be spent converting measurements given in grams to ounces and visa versa.

5. The digital scale should be able to tare or zero the reading. With this feature, you can measure different ingredients using the same container. You can weigh 5 grams of salt, tare it and the reading shows zero. Then add 3.5 grams of pepper. You do not have to remember the measurement in the recipe. The reading on the scale will show 8.5 grams.

It is necessary for the bathroom scale also to be digital. The most used types are the platform scale and the rail scale. The platform scale has a platform attached to the base floor scale and you can read the measurement on it. The floor sale rests on the floor and you can stand on it and check your weight.

1. It should be accurate – especially for people who are interested in dieting and weight reduction.

2. The numbers should be located in such a manner that you should be able to see while standing on the scale.

3. It should be durable and able to withstand the weight of people.

People buying a digital scale you should also inquire about the price of the scale. You can check out various shops and also the internet for getting the best buy. It should be durable and functional. Factories, shops, post offices and many other places use different types of digital scales. The main thing to remember is that it should be functioning properly for the purpose that it is bought.

Keeping these factors in mind you can go ahead and buy the type of digital scale most suited to your needs – whether you want it in the kitchen or the bathroom.

Importance of Steel Coil Scales

There are many different types of scales such as the floor scales, the bench scales, the counting scales, the platform scales and the coil scales – each having their own importance in weighing things. The coil scales are used in weighing coils that have to be loaded by lift trucks or cranes. These scales can be used by themselves or incorporated into the design of already existing product lines. They are generally used for industrial purposes especially in steel mills. They are mainly used for steel coil packaging and transporting line and processing line.

The base structure of the coil scales should be able to handle the weight that has to be weighed and the weighing apparatus. The base platform should be in contact with the load cells. A minimum of one cell needs to be placed between the base portion and the platform portion. There should be a one guide to align the base and the platform. A signal should be given about the weight of the article to be weighed. The capacity and measurement accuracy of the coil scales depends largely on the different sizes and weights of the load cells which play an important part of the coil scales. The load cell overload protection should be 150 percent. It should be designed in such a way for 100% concentrated load capacity (CLC).

The coil scales can handle capacities from 20,000 lbs. to 80,000 lbs. There are coil scales that can handle heavier capacities which range from 10,000 lbs. to 100,000lbs. The weighing range is can handle 6 tons, 10 tons, 20 tons and thirty tons.

There are two types of coil scales which are used. They are:

1. Buffering steel coil scales and C type steel coil scales which are used in the packaging industry, in the end of packaging line.

2. U tunnel online transporting steel coil scales and hydraulic pressure lifting steel coil scales.

A saddle supports and weighs the coil scale. The interface has rubber which protects it from any damage to it. The main features of the coil scales are: Free floating load cell assemblies, double ended sheer beam load cells, heavy duty I-beam construction and digital weight instruments. It can also have other features attached to it like R.F. radio data transmission to far off places, scoreboards, printers and computer interfaces, CRT touch screen digital control system, removable V-deck, polyurethane protective wear pads and hydraulic lifts.

These features help in the process of weighing the coils. For this various functions have to be performed by the coil scales.

1. Software for weighing can help in the automatic weighing of the coil material, number, width, thickness, input etc. The data has to be stored and printed and can be connected to a PLC or controller.

2. It needs a durable scale board to weigh which should be highly stable. It should be designed in such a way that it can resist powerful strikes. Such a board can be custom made according to requirement.

3. They also need protection from rust and so have an oil coating which helps in protecting it from corrosion when it is stored for a long time. This oil can be removed by degreasing just before the coils are taken for delivery.

4. The coil scales need to have a very strong platform structure to withstand the load to be weighed. They also need adjustable feet. They should be anti-shock proof. The load indicators should be precise and reliable.

5. They can have flat decks, v- decks or rails for the coil transfer car weighing. They should prevent coils from rolling from the decks.

6. It requires center loaded sheer beam cells which are strong, durable and give maximum support. If side loaded, the suspension allows the platform to move, thus preventing damage to the load cells.

You can also have coil car transfer scales. These are fully electronic NTEP platform sizes from 4’6” to 20’10”. Their capacities range from 20,000 lbs. to 120,000 lbs. You can also have non- NTEP platforms.

All these specifications are necessary for coil scales to function properly and weigh coils accurately. Thus, durability and accuracy are two main considerations.

Benefits of Counting scales

The operation of counting scales is rather simple and calls for no special skills. Most counting scales have the facility to tell how much each individual item weighs. The scale simply requires you to place ten items on the scale followed by a key press to tell the scale that there are ten items present. The scale will then do the calculation necessary to work out how much each individual item weighs and will proceed to count accurately for you.

Some counting scales are designed to help label printer, ticket printers, banks etc. Ethernet modules are available with high counting system to meet the needs of all types of customers and manufacturing units.

Businesses that generate heavy cash transactions on a daily basis can use counting scales to for speedy and accurate counting. These scales also have special features to sort out the various denominations based on their unit weight to help users. Scales are designed with a range of features and offer a number of benefits for businesses of all sizes and to suit varying applications. The scales have the facility to accurately convert the weight information of the object placed on the machine into number information.

Coin counting scales are versatile enough to count pennies, nickels, dimes and quarters, but some advanced models are designed with a programming function to count other types of currencies as well. A large tray sits on top of the coin scale to hold the collection of coins, and the top of the scale is very sensitive to temperature changes, vibrations and pressure.

The scales allow the user to count several types of coins or tokens in large quantities in a matter of minutes. Companies that are responsible for declaring values of large amounts of coins can simply place the set of coins on top of the scale and give the customer or cashier the denominational value in a few seconds.

Key Points to look at when buying Weighing Scales Online

Weighing machine , as all of us are aware, is used widely for weighing and indicating mass or weight of an object. The manual ones are less effective as compared to the present day digital and automatic versions. The weighing scales are broadly classified based on styles, sizes, prices and capacities .Some of the common varieties of scales in the market are floor scales, bench scale, platform scale, digital scale, pocket scales. There are quite a few key points one has to be aware of when buying weighing scales online.

You need to know what maximum weight you will weigh at any given point in time. Assuming you have to maximum weigh a baggage of articles of 500 kg and the bag weighs 20 kg, you will have to necessarily opt for scales that will more than 500 kg. In such circumstances, it is preferable to select the next higher weighing capacity machine.

Next in importance is to know the incremental weights you would require - it could be 10g/1g/1mg or whatever depending on your type of goods. It is worthwhile to know that usually increment on most scales is set at 3,000 divisions. That is to say, any scale capacity is divided up into 3000 parts, therefore the increment size is normally a direct correlation with the capacity.

It is common knowledge that scales come in different sizes. The capacity of the scale is what determines the size of the weighing scales. Of course, there are scales that feature a larger weighing area but with low weighing capacities. For a scale that weighs up to 150Kg the size would normally be upwards of 550mm x 550mm. The size of the scale that you should opt is directly related to the type of goods you will weigh, as some goods may occupy large space but weigh little.

Why Floor Scales is the Best Industrial Scale for Your Business?

All business owners regardless of the industry they belong to, need an accurate and reliable scale for weighing purposes. With a variety of scales available in the market, it does become difficult to decide which scale is best suited for one's industry. But the overwhelming opinion is in favor of the floor scale.

For one thing, Counting scales are versatile in the sense there is more than one way to load and unload goods. One of the best known ways is to use a forklift. You simply need to place the items to be weighed on the loading area of the scale. The scale then weighs the items and displays the exact weight on the LCD screen. People who do not have a forklift can consider smaller floor scales that come with little ramps that run off the side of the unit.

Floor scales do not generally occupy much floor space. Even bench scales have their own demerits. Floor scales, usually occupy only about 10 square feet of space but provide accurate weights and speedily. A floor scale has an adequately large base with a low center of gravity. Thus floor scales are safe for placing heavy objects. As a matter of fact, some of the latest units have on-board digital computer to facilitate data analysis after the weighing is over. Most floor scales have a large, user-friendly graphics LCD readout screen and a powerful data communication feature.

Industrial Floor Scales have a number of important key features including the platform size, platform capacity, accuracy, durability and cost. The low base design, rugged construction and modern day electronic features of the digital floor scale make it the ideal choice for the industrial applications - particularly where rapid weighing is essential. In heavy industries weighing can be a very time-consuming operation and the floor scale is terribly helpful to speed up operations. Further, the man hours spent towards loading and unloading materials on the scale are reduced considerably when a proper platform scale is used.

Learn how can you save your money by using digital scales?

Commercial scales may as well be an indispensable machine for those engaged in manufacturing industries, commercial establishments, convenience stores, retail outlets etc. In the present day world, most commercial scales are digital and the user can read the weights more easily as the displays are in bright colors. This is one of the principal advantages digital scales have to offer compared with their non-digital counterparts.

digital scales

An easy-to-read digital display helps both yourself and the customer to have a clear and unambiguous idea about the correct weight. Besides, the digital model scales are far more precision-tuned with zero error than the commonplace scales where precision is not critically important. As a matter of fact scales used in labs and jewelry shops have to be especially precision-tuned.

To those who may be less familiar, a digital scale is an electronic weighing instrument that displays results in a digital format and thus use load cell technology and offer the user an accurate reading than their counterparts. Digital display obviously is one of the most important and attractive features of a digital scale. However, displays with better readability depend on several factors such as LCD quality, backlight type, display size, and digital readouts. Other salient features include ability to store measurements and perform calibration when needed.

Digital scales can be used in a variety of applications such as measuring done in scientific laboratories, pharmaceutical industry, jewelry shops etc. Digital scales are generally smaller in size, which not only makes them more efficient but they can also be hooked to a computer or other accounting systems. Though many different sizes of digital scales are available, you should base your choice on the standard sizes of the items you will be weighing.

An introduction to weighing scales

Weighing scales are important part of any industrial processes and also businesses dealing with amounts that is weights and measurements. If you are business men who mainly deal with weights and measures, then definitely you should know about weighing scales. These scales are available in many different sizes and designs, to the required function. It is one of the most important and inevitable instrument which is needed in each and every shops and organizations, so that they can measure what they want accurately. These scales are designed in a special way to meet the requirements of various applications.

Most of the weighing scales manufacturers design the scale in such a way that they meet the requirements of the customers, because they are the most essential instruments that help out to determine the weight of the item placed on the scale or equipment accurately.

Most of the businesses use the commercial floor scale to weigh the products that leave their warehouse, stores or factory. These scales are not like the ones which we use at home, it is a totally different model. These are industrial scales and not the normal household scale which is used to weigh kitchen stuff's and other goods. These are industrial scales which are larger and more durable. They have to be large because, they are generally used to weigh very heavy objects like pallets, cartons, crates, large spare parts, equipment pieces and so on.

When it is time for you to buy your first floor scale, or if you need to replace your outdated, old model, do a lot of research and then go for one. Carry out a little research before you head out to purchase one. Floor scales is something which is very important so you need to take a lot of care before you get one, since it's a huge and valuable investment, make sure you select the right one. No matter from where you buy it, be it a local merchant or an industrial scale specialist, you need to be aware of all the options and make sure you purchase the one which is apt for you. Consider the following three factors before getting one for your company or business.

Varieties in Weighing Scales

You weigh anything you want to buy or sell. What comes to the market for sales without its weight being mentioned on its cover? Right from the vegetables that we use daily to industrial goods like coal, iron, cement and other raw materials are weighed and then are marked according to their capacity and need before meeting the intended market.

Anywhere we go… it is the weighing scale that acts as a main tool in measuring the weight of that particular good which needs to be processed. The variety in weighing scales comes up according to the use and need that is designated for. Each and every type of weighing scale has its own set of specialties, improvements and needs. The basic types of weighing scales are Floor Scales, Digital Scales, talking scales and shipping scales, the uses and its functionalities as discussed in brief below…

Floor Scales is one of the main kinds of weighing scales that are being used in homes hospitals and even at domestic market. This is one common type that can be found used widely and frequently almost anywhere you have the need to weigh. You can see that farmers go for such floor scales to determine the weight of the animals they grow. The floor Scales determines the weight of a particular object that is placed on top of it with the help of a spring that actually faces the pressure give by the mass of the object. In a floor scale, you can determine the weight of the body that is place on top of it through the reading which will be given in scale. You can even adjust the zero correction of the floor scale if needed. The main drawback of these floor scales is that, the accurate weight of the object cannot be determined and is subjected to eye level errors and other manual errors.

Floor scales provides an absolute weighing solutions

Accurate measurements are essential for many industries, commercial establishments and retail outlets. There are different weighing machines used to measure weight and one of them is floor scales. They are called floor scales because they are usually placed on the floor and principally used to weigh heavy objects. Of all weighing scales, the largest and most durable weighing machines are floor scales. It can handle even several tons of weight.

The standard floor scales have the flat and wide areas to facilitate placing tons of weights. The scales are usually made of the strong stainless steel or welded steel or aluminum materials to prevent corrosion. For rugged use and highly corrosive environment, stainless steel is used in the construction of floor scales. Aluminum is used where greater portability is needed because aluminum is lighter than steel.

Everything about digital floor scales in a nutshell

Digitalization is the mantra in this age and this applies to the weighing scales too. The reading can be received quickly and accurately using the digital scales. Furthermore, there is an advanced version of the digital scales called as the digital floor scales which has some add-on benefits along with having all the features of normal digital ones. The main advantage of floor scale is that the movement of the object to be weighed would be minimized. This is really an advantage while dealing with the heavy objects. Moreover the weighing takes place very fast and there are minimal chances of breakdowns happening during the process.

Basically the floor scales are machines which are placed on the floor to weigh mostly large loads. The floor scales are equipped with bases on which the material to be measured can be placed. Then the digital reading would give the exact measurement of the object being weighed. The scales have digital displays and are usually battery powered. The floor scales differ in capacities, sizes and prices accordingly. Earlier, people never find it necessary to have scales. Later accuracy in measurement became essential and technological advancement made it easy to accomplish it. The customers are not going to get away with approximate value but the exact one. Hence the need for floor scales increased.
